Consultant Medical Oncologist, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre; Director, Australian Cancer Survivorship Centre (ACSC); Professorial Fellow, the University of Melbourne

Prof Jefford's major clinical focus is on the management of people with gastrointestinal cancers. He leads the Survivorship and Living Well After Cancer research program with the Department of Health Services Research and has led the ACSC since it was established in 2009. The ACSC has a major local, national and international reputation. Most of his research has a cancer survivorship focus.

A recognised leader in cancer survivorship, nationally and internationally, he has numerous leadership roles including being a Board Member (Director) of the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia (COSA). He leads the survivorship study group with the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer, and has held similar roles with COSA, the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the International Psycho-Oncology Society.

The first person trained and practising in Australia to gain the Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (FASCO) distinction, he has presented at numerous international meetings covering clinical oncology, survivorship, psycho-oncology and cancer control broadly, and has convened multiple successful survivorship conferences

Professor Larissa Nekhlyudov   MD  MPH

Prof Nekhlyudov is a practicing primary care physician offering clinical care for long term survivors of childhood and adult cancers. She is particularly interested in improving the care of cancer survivors and the interplay between primary and oncology care. Her publications (including journal articles, book chapters and two books) as well as her broad-ranging educational programs have promoted global awareness among health care providers about the ongoing needs of cancer patients across the care continuum.

Prof Nekhlyudov has been at the forefront of the field of cancer survivorship, nationally and internationally, by leading and participating in the development of policies, clinical guidelines, educational programs, and research. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to teaching and mentoring students, residents, fellows, and faculty. She has also been committed to empowering cancer survivors and caregivers through educational programs and advocacy, offering volunteer support to organisations.
