Optimal Cancer Care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People Learning Program
This course equips participants with the knowledge and skills needed to deliver culturally sensitive cancer care, addressing the unique challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
This course has been developed through collaboration between SMICS, GRICS, Aboriginal Health and Cancer Services, and the VCCC Alliance.
Embark on an educational journey as you delve into the lives of three co-designed fictional patients: Daphne, Uncle Brian, and Daniel.
Across four engaging modules, you will navigate the challenges intertwined with cancer diagnosis, treatment, and care.
Through their stories, you'll explore nuanced scenarios, prompting the exploration of strategies to enhance the delivery of culturally appropriate and patient-centred cancer care. The Cancer Australia, 2024 Optimal Care Pathway for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People With Cancer will serve as our guiding framework, providing a comprehensive structure to address and improve various facets of cancer care.
