The PARTNER Network

In completing this RACGP-accredited course, you will be able to recognise the relationship between the PARTNER Network, a clinical trial and general practice, and understand the fundamental elements of the lifecycle of a clinical trial and the impact design has on how a trial will be conducted in general practice.

Learning Objectives

This course will introduce you to: 

  • The PARTNER Network 

  • The different types of clinical trials that are conducted in general practice

  • Introduce novel software that are helping to improve the quality and reach of clinical trials conducted in general practice

Learning Outcomes

  • To understand how the PARTNER Network will increase capacity in rural and regional areas of Australia to conduct and participate in clinical trials

  •  To be able to describe the differences between cluster and individually randomised controlled trials

  •  To understand how general practices and general practice staff are involved throughout the lifecycle of a clinical trial

  •  To gain knowledge on how different clinical trials could be conducted in (their) general practice

The PARTNER Network

The PARTNER Network is a national network of rural general practices supported by local state and territory-based research hubs. The PARTNER Network creates an environment of research-ready general practices that improves the speed and quality of research conducted in primary care, allowing patients in regional, rural, or remote locations equity in access to clinical trials and improved health outcomes.
