Targeted therapies in melanoma: indications and nurse-led approaches to management

This webinar is tailored for melanoma nurses aiming to deepen their understanding of targeted therapies in melanoma management.
This session will explore the indications for targeted therapies, delve into the various types and their associated side-effect profiles, and focus on nurse-led strategies for patient care. Nurses will gain insights into effective approaches for identifying and managing complications and delivering medication education, equipping them with the knowledge to offer comprehensive care and patient education.
Learning outcomes:
- Identify the indication and mechanisms of action of key targeted therapies used in melanoma treatment
- Differentiate between the main types of targeted therapies and describe their common side-effect profiles
- Apply nurse-led strategies for monitoring, managing and educating patients about the side effects and complications of targeted therapies
- Demonstrate understanding of the nurse’s role in delivering patient-centered education and support related to targeted therapy in melanoma care
