Associate Professor Anita Skandarajah is a Breast and Endocrine Surgeon at The Royal Melbourne, The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and from The University of Melbourne. Her main research interests are outcomes research, especially in women at increased risk of developing breast cancer, clinical trials exploring de-escalation of therapies and more recently, PROMS and use for research and service improvement.

Professor Christobel Saunders, AO is the James Steward Chair of Surgery and Head of the Department of Surgery at The University of Melbourne. She is also a consultant surgeon at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute. With over 30 years of experience, she has made significant contributions to breast cancer research, including clinical trials of new treatments and health services research. Her awards and honours include the Order of Australia, Uccio Querci della Rovere Award, International Women’s Day WA Women’s Hall of Fame Inductee, and WA Scientist of the Year. She has published over 200 peer-reviewed journal articles and sits on the boards of several health and research organisations.

Dr Julia Matheson is a Breast Cancer Trials Clinical Fellow based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and University of Melbourne. Her current research explores the patient experience of undergoing MRI as part of the Breast MRI Evaluation study. She completed General Surgery Training through RMH and will commence subspecialty Breast Surgery Training in 2024. She has a DPhil from the University of Oxford where she studied as a Rhodes Scholar.
