Hear from an expert team from Telstra Health, about the implementation, key functions and benefits of the National Cancer Screening Register (NCSR), and how it facilitates cancer screening for health care providers and participants.
The NCSR is a national digital platform that connects data across the health care system including laboratories, government digital infrastructure and clinical management systems. It supports the Australian Government's National Cervical and Bowel Cancer Screening programs.
This special presentation will include a demonstration of how health care providers can access the NCSR to facilitate participation in screening. They will also cover Australia's success in cervical cancer prevention.
The National Cancer Screening Register
The National Cancer Screening Register (NCSR) was established in 2018 and presently supports the Australian Government's National Cervical Screening Program and the National Bowel Cancer Screening program. The NCSR is a national digital platform that connects data across the health care system including laboratories, government digital infrastructure and clinical management systems.

Professor Dorota Gertig
Professor Dorota Gertig is a public health physician and senior epidemiologist. She completed her medical training at Monash University and has a Doctorate in Epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health. Professor Gertig has an international profile in cancer research, including the epidemiology of cervical, breast and ovarian cancers. With more than 100 scientific publications, her primary research focus has been on policy relevant research and impact of the HPV vaccine, as well as improving participation in cancer screening. She is committed to improving quality, safety, and digital innovation in population health programs.
John Lee
John Lee is the Head of Engagement and Communications for the National Cancer Screening Register at Telstra Health. John joined the team in 2018 bringing over 10 years’ experience in the field of cancer screening, health promotion and engagement in both the UK and Australia. John is passionate about improving participation in cancer screening programs and integrating the broader healthcare ecosystem to improve health outcomes for Australians.
