Monday Lunch Live
Responding to their needs and fulfilling their rights
24 February 2025.
Cancer carers are of vital importance to their loved ones and to the broader community. Yet their experiences are often unheard, meaning their needs go unrecognised.
This webinar is an opportunity to hear directly from carers of people affected by cancer about their experiences, as well as hear about work underway by the McCabe Centre for Law and Cancer and Cancer Council Victoria towards making the invisible visible by advocating for carer rights to be adopted in law and policy.
Cancer carers from both metro and regional areas of Victoria will present on the key issues that affect them and will be available to answer your questions.
This session will explore:
-
how the law and human rights can be used to improve the lives of cancer carers
-
key policy developments locally
-
supports available from Cancer Council Victoria
-
how carers can get involved in Cancer Council Victoria’s policy and advocacy work.
