Explore the evolving role of artificial intelligence, interprofessional education, and learner motivation

Medical education used to be simple. Students learned by studying textbooks and sitting in passive lectures. Medical school sat in isolation from other health professions. Learner motivation was assumed as part of budding professional identity.

Modern medical education has changed. Technology is rapidly evolving to include active thinking and reasoning. Hierarchies are shifting and giving way to interprofessional learning opportunities. Generation Z is here and Generation Alpha is coming, bringing with them different attitudes, attention spans, and motivations.

In this session, Chair of ASCO Education Council A/Prof Sam Brondfield will discuss the evolving roles of artificial intelligence, interprofessional education, and learner motivation in medical education. Educators must pay attention to these key issues in today's world in order to lay the groundwork for the next generation's success, as well as their own.
