This webinar was tailored for nurses aiming to deepen their understanding of medication access and treatment decision-making. It explored the different ways medications are accessed in Australia, including the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme and the Therapeutic Goods Administration, introduced the concept of personalised medicine, and discussed treatment decision-making for stage II, stage III and advanced melanoma. Nurses will gain insight into treatment decision pathways and how therapies are selected based on patient-specific factors such as financial ability, assessments of survival, treatment availability, and side-effect and toxicity profiles, equipping them to offer comprehensive care and patient education as critical members of the multidisciplinary team.
