Cancer affects a significant portion of our population, with 1 in 3 individuals facing a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime. As treatments advance and outcomes improve, more people are living with cancer or its treatment effects, making it a pressing public health concern.

Head and Neck cancer treatments can be life-saving, but they can also lead to long-term physical, social, and emotional challenges for patients and specialists alike. Extensive research shows that cancer and its treatments profoundly impact individuals in various aspects of their well-being—physically, socially, emotionally, cognitively, sexually, spiritually, and existentially—shaping their sense of self-identity. Unfortunately, the focus is often solely on treating the 'cancer' itself, overlooking the needs of the individuals living with it.

This webinar sheds light on the psychological and emotional impact of head and neck cancer, as well as ways to enhance our awareness, clinical practices, and patient care. By delving into the human aspect of cancer, we can better understand the challenges faced by patients and tailor our support accordingly.
