Dr Martinez is an academic general practitioner and dedicated researcher with extensive clinical and research experience. Currently pursuing a PhD in digital interventions for cancer prevention and early detection at the University of Melbourne, she holds a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Washington, USA.

Her research interests centre around early cancer detection and prevention in primary care, leveraging digital tools and clinical decision support systems, and advancing community health initiatives. Dr Martinez has played a pivotal role in developing a clinical decision-support tool for early cancer detection within the Department of General Practice. She also chairs the general practice and community advisory group that supports this research initiative.

She has recently been invited to join the Executive Committee for the Cancer and Primary Care Research International Network (Ca-PRI) and serves as a member in the Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee at the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences at the University of Melbourne. Dr Martinez's dedication to advancing cancer research and healthcare is evident through her multifaceted and impactful roles on both national and international fronts.
